I recently had the pleasure of completing both the Basic and Advanced Drive the Road Leadership courses at the Sandusky County Sheriff's Office, and I can proudly say that these sessions have transformed my approach to leadership. If anyone is looking for a class that is targeted to staff of public safety agencies, this is it! The material was presented with a good mixture of stories, facts, and humor. Mary and Paul kept the attendee’s attention and engaged during the entire class. The course was superbly tailored to our needs and had an immediate impact on my staff. The afternoon class exercise was eye opening for many of the participants. We are excited to bring them back to do more training!

I just wanted to take a minute and thank the two of you for providing some of the absolute best supervisor training I've had the privilege of attending in my 34 years in law enforcement. I appreciate your philosophy and recognize where I can improve as a leader. I have attended numerous trainings over the years with varying philosophies. However, the “Drive the Road” and “A Way, not the Way” philosophies have rung true to mee spoken to my dispatch supervisor (12 years on) and patrol supervisor (25 plus years on) and both have commented that this was the best leadership training they have attended thus far. In my 18 years of attending leadership training, this is the best training I've attended. 

 As Sheriff, I have placed a high priority on the training of our leadership team. Now more than ever, law enforcement agencies must have solid, ethical leaders to accomplish the mission while carrying out the vision and values of the agency! We made the decision to contract with PDL Connect Consulting to train our leadership team and it was the best decision we have made for leadership training. Having known Sheriff Paul Laney-Retired for most of my career and getting the chance to meet Mary Phillippi, I was confident that they would bring their “A Game” and deliver high quality training. What really impressed me and made me confident we had hired the right people was the back and forth dialogue before the training. This guaranteed me they knew exactly what we were looking to accomplish through the training and they were prepared to deliver it. I made the decision to sit in on both eight hour training days to be able to learn and observe with my entire leadership team. Both days brought a consistent message to the students with the same passion and energy from start to finish. At the end of the instruction and hands-on scenarios, I was proud of my team and felt we had did them a great service in preparing them to continue to lead our agency by hiring PDL Connect Consulting. The icing on the cake though, was the feedback I received from staff of all ranks, the next day as they emailed me, stopped in my office, or caught me in the hallway, to thank me for the training they received.  If you want a great overall view of leadership in a very simplistic, effective manner, this is your course! 

 After 21 years as a police officer, I have learned that there are few training courses that offer new or exciting training opportunities. However, I found the Drive the Road Leadership course by PDL Connect Consulting extremely motivating and valuable. I'm happy I decided to attend and I've already begun implementing what I have learned.

I had the privilege of attending their leadership development training last month and I was very impressed. Paul and Mary were great to work with and would be beneficial for anyone looking to advance in your career or even if you are already in a leadership role.   The hands-on experience was extremely helpful, and the course guided me on how to practically apply it in my job. 

 I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed your training! It was a pleasure to meet both of you and I love your dynamic! One of the things I loved most about your class was the interactions with the group. I have been to many training courses where the presenters don’t engage with the audience, and I feel less is absorbed as it is easy to get distracted by other things and then you don’t take away the key message. Your class was fun, interactive and had my attention the whole time! I left feeling excited and energized about what I do and the people I work with!  

Paul and Mary came to our headquarters and did a training for about 20 people.  They did an amazing job! they kept everyone engaged and had great teaching points.  Their trainings are great for anyone that is new to a leadership role or have years of experience.  My favorite part of the day was the one-on-one scenarios.  Paul and Mary tailored each scenario based on leadership levels and roles in the company.  Each scenario was also tailored for our company specifically.
